Awake My Soul (Psalm 57) [feat. Shane & Shane & Mac Hays]
Song by
The Worship Initiative, Writers Well
Be gracious to me, oh, God
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings
'Til destruction of the enemy goes by
Be gracious to me, oh, God
Be merciful to me, my King
There's a darkness in this cave surrounding me
When the swords are drawn and spears and arrows fly
Be merciful to me, my King
You are exalted, oh, God above the heavens
Come let Your glory cover the Earth
You have saved me from the roaring lions
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
Be faithful to me, my Lord
Protect me when the enemies draw near
Though they set their nets before me in the night
Be faithful to me, my Lord
You are exalted, oh, God above the heavens
Come let Your glory cover the Earth
You have saved me from the roaring lions
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
You are exalted, oh, God above the heavens
Come let Your glory cover the Earth
You have saved me from the roaring lions
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
I will sing for all You've done
You have changed my life
Rescued me from the grave
Kept me safe through the night
I will sing for all You've done
You have changed my life
Rescued me from the grave
Kept me safe through the night
I will sing for all You've done
You have changed my life
Rescued me from the grave
Kept me safe through the night
I will sing for all You've done
You have changed my life
Rescued me from the grave
Kept me safe through the night
You are exalted, oh, God above the heavens
Come let Your glory cover the Earth
You have saved me from the roaring lions
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
You are exalted, oh, God above the heavens
Come let Your glory cover the Earth
You have saved me from the roaring lions
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing
Awake my soul to love You, awake my soul to sing

You know, I am watching the news all day, and I have so much to comment on.
Nevertheless, allow me to say this.
Those "Clowns," at the UN who were jokingly pulling those pranks on our President, as well, as the First Lady, ought to be brought to justice and treated in the same manner, as if they were part of an assassination plot.
Just as we have these "leftist lunatics," and I am strictly referring to those in Congress who keep insinuating that "Trump," is like Hitler or Fascist, those ones who could have been partly responsible for urging or possibly exploiting his last two assassin's to works, are very careless, yet we wonder why they continue with that kind of speech?
Nonetheless, just as there were men who followed up upon the rhetoric in which they had been hearing from supposedly "good," men and women, such was the case again today.
You see, what they had basically accomplished was to broadcast to the world that there are some "Chink's," in the President's armor. It is my prayer that they will be found and punished to the full extent of the law, as should perhaps some of our elected officials when the next attempt is made on his life.
This kind of spiteful hate must cease, and it is normally found in just one Party.
Well, I can guarantee you that if it does happen, I am going to remind the world of exactly what I am prophesying today, and I will name those ones who I feel God is revealing to me that were the cause of such a tragic event in which our country will surely suffer.

AI Overview
To say that someone has "chinks in their armor" means they have a weakness or a flaw that can be exploited, especially in something that was previously thought to be flawless, strong, or perfect.
Origin
The phrase comes from the literal image of a knight wearing a suit of armor.
While the armor is intended to protect completely, there are always small gaps ("chinks") at the joints or seams.
An opponent would aim for these vulnerable spots to land a blow and injure the knight.

The accounts of David sparing Saul's life are found in the Old Testament of the Bible, specifically in 1 Samuel chapter 24 and 1 Samuel chapter 26. In chapter 24,
David spares Saul's life in a cave at En Gedi, cutting off a piece of his robe to show he had the opportunity but chose not to harm him.
In chapter 26, David again spares Saul by stealing his spear and water jar from his camp, demonstrating the same restraint.
Details of the Episodes
1 Samuel 24: The Cave at En Gedi
The Scene: While fleeing Saul's pursuit, David and his men hid in a cave in the wilderness of En Gedi. Saul, entering the same cave to relieve himself, was unaware of David's presence.
David's Action: Instead of taking the opportunity to kill Saul, as his men suggested, David secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
The Confrontation: David later confronted Saul, showing him the piece of cloth as proof that he could have killed him but chose not to. This action led to a temporary reprieve from Saul.
1 Samuel 26: The Desert Camp
The Scene: Saul and his army encamped in the wilderness of Ziph, again pursuing David. David, with his nephew Abishai, snuck into the sleeping camp at night.
David's Action: They took Saul's spear and water jar from his bedside.
The Confrontation: David called out to Saul from a distance, holding up the spear and water jar as evidence of his mercy and his restraint from harming the Lord's anointed.
Psalm 57 New Living Translation
Psalm 57
For the choir director: A psalm of David, regarding the time he fled from Saul and went into the cave. To be sung to the tune “Do Not Destroy!”
1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy!
I look to you for protection.
I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings
until the danger passes by.
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.
3 He will send help from heaven to rescue me,
disgracing those who hound me. Interlude
My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness.
4 I am surrounded by fierce lions
who greedily devour human prey—
whose teeth pierce like spears and arrows,
and whose tongues cut like swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens!
May your glory shine over all the earth.
6 My enemies have set a trap for me.
I am weary from distress.
They have dug a deep pit in my path,
but they themselves have fallen into it. Interlude
7 My heart is confident in you, O God;
my heart is confident.
No wonder I can sing your praises!
8 Wake up, my heart!
Wake up, O lyre and harp!
I will wake the dawn with my song.
9 I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.
I will sing your praises among the nations.
10 For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.
May your glory shine over all the earth.
After thought:
I think it was a week or so back when I posted a paper concerning the time that I had studied "Creationism," well, a few days later, I Google the "amoeba," and there was much more studying and reporting on it. Nevertheless, that is the norm, as soon as the Creationists present an argument with factual answers which refutes the many assumptions, they like to present papers which make it look more "evolutionary."
As I stated that was something like forty-five years ago, when I read all of these most logical arguments presented by the "Creationist scientists."
Well, the other day, I was trying to remember another fact clearly in my head which I had read about over forty years ago. I don't know where I could get a copy of the argument since there has been so much time that has passed. I don't have a clue as to where that book would be or even the name, nonetheless, let me share it as I remember it.
What I had read by one of the "Creationist," was that since man had landed on the moon, it has been studied to death.
Well, this "Creationist," stated that one of the things that they had studied was the accumulation of moon dust which is on the surface of the moon. Well, from the rate of accumulation and when taken into account the amount of that dust which is presently on the moon, many scientists (those who look at things logically,) had estimated that the "Moon" was only something like six or seven thousand years old.
Well, I don't wish to argue this out, nor do I wish to claim it as factual, but this is the reason why Christian's ought to be studying anything that they are not quite sure about in God's written word.
And it is not that I am afraid to argue or to debate these facts, but right now God has not called me to do that. He has called me to "preach the gospel,"
God does not want me to waste the little time that I have left in this life to spend my days researching individual facts concerning every little thing in the Bible, I have been doing that for over forty years.
You see, there are others who God has called to go to the campuses or into the inner cities and to debate or argue as kindly as possible the characteristic's and the wonderful "truths," of the gospel.
It has never been proven wrong, and it helps your own personal life when you are assured that God is a "Faithful God and is always true to His "Word."
From Google:
"Where is the scripture in which Paul admonishes Timothy to study to show thyself approved to preach the gospel?"
AI Overview
The scripture is 2 Timothy 2:15, where the Apostle Paul writes to Timothy, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". This verse is a command to dedicate oneself to diligent study of God's word to be a faithful servant of the gospel.
AI Overview
A good scripture that declares the veracity of God's word is Psalm 119:160, which says, "The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever". Other scriptures that support the truthfulness of God's word include John 17:17, where Jesus states, "Your word is truth," and Proverbs 30:5, which declares, "Every word of God proves true".
Here are a few scriptures emphasizing the truth of God's Word:
John 17:17: "Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth". This is Jesus' own declaration of the divine nature of His Father's word.
Psalm 119:160: "The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever". This verse highlights the completeness and eternal nature of God's Word.
Psalm 33:4: "For the word of the Lord is right, and all His works are done in truth". This shows the truthfulness of God's communication as well as His actions.
Proverbs 30:5: "Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him". This emphasizes that God's promises and declarations are reliable.
2 Peter 1:20-21: "...no Prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet's own interpretation, because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit". This highlights the divine origin and reliability of Scripture.

The scripture stating, "One sows and another reaps," is found in John 4:37, where Jesus speaks of the spiritual harvest that follows the initial planting of the seeds of the Gospel. The Apostle Paul also discusses the principle of sowing and reaping, but in different passages, such as 1 Corinthians 3:6-8, which speaks of planting and watering as a collective effort to bring forth an increase, and 2 Corinthians 9:6 and Galatians 6:7-9, which focus on the consequences of what one sows.
John 4:37 (Jesus's Words)
Jesus uses the metaphor of a harvest where the sower and reaper are distinct individuals, emphasizing the collaborative effort in God's kingdom and the sharing of rewards.
Paul's Teaching on Sowing and Reaping
1 Corinthians 3:6-8: Paul explains that while he may plant and Apollos water, it is God who gives the increase, and both the planter and waterer are part of a unified effort.

Let me add, when I say that I am preaching the gospel, I am in no way suggesting that any others such as those who debate on campuses are not, what I mean, is that I am preaching the gospel in the way in which I feel that God has called me at present.
When I was just sleeping I was thinking in my mind of a young lady on campus sharing her 'Faith,' well, this is just another one of the "Saints," doing the "will of God." This is how God thinks of us as we do the things which are commonly suggested that the "Saints," ought to be doing.
These things are precious in the sight of God. This was how the gospel is suppose to be carried out on Earth, we all are called to perform our various functions that God has called us to do and that is when the church is at it's most glorious.
Jesus never came as our example or teacher to suggest that the church ought to meet an hour a week on Sunday.
No, we should be a living organism all working together and flowing in perfect harmony with the Holy Spirit who binds us all together for one purpose and that is to glorify God.
Lastly, I would like to say that I have been wanting to address an issue in which the President brought up a few weeks ago, when he admitted that he had questions of "his eternal rest."
Well, for weeks, I wanted to write a nice long respectful paper concerning "Salvation," and then I wanted to end it with the greatest "wisdom," that I have ever learned in this life.
Well, as the Holy Spirit awoke me, maybe an hour ago, and I was reminded of my intent on writing the paper, I believe that he was telling me, "John, just write the paper and instead of you writing a nice long essay, just 'Cut to the chase,' for goodness sake." (maybe he didn't say, for "goodness sake." )
From Google:
The idiom cut to the chase means "speak about something without wasting time or including unimportant details." "Cut to the chase" originated in the 1920s, when silent film editors would splice in a chase scene after a slower scene in order to keep the audience's attention.Jun 24, 2024
So, anyway this was what I was going to end my paper with and it is for the President, or for any other individual who wishes to know Jesus Christ better or for a more stronger confidence of your eternal salvation.
"You do not need to have any minister present with you, you do not need to have a church altar in front of you, you do not need to stand up in the middle of a church service at the request of some Pastor to meet Jesus Christ or to receive more confidence concerning your salvation."
"For years, I was being hunted down by the Holy Spirit, in order that he might save my life from the "throes of death."
One time, I was in a "Rescue Mission," in San Francisco and the pastor preaching before dinner wouldn't quit giving his altar call. The homeless were screaming "C'mon we want to eat," but the guy continued to call for that particular person to come up to the altar."
Well, there was no way that "this guy," was going up there in front of a few hundred homeless and mean looking ornery individuals.
Nonetheless, it wasn't them that I was fearing, but it was the "preacher," who I knew would be making me "weep" all over that altar and in the sight of all those men.
It was probably three years later, when my spirit met the Holy Spirit, and I knew that it was no longer the same. There were other situations, as well, but I kept brushing them off or ignoring them.
Nonetheless, then, one night after taking some four hits of LSD and drinking over three six packs of beer, that I came to myself and knew that I had hit 'rock bottom.'
Well, I drove all night to a little Catholic Cemetery where there was a statue of Mary, which was reported to have had many miracles associated with it.
As I touched the statue nothing happened, but after I had entered a little chapel and spoke to a Crucifix on a wall, I was immediately transformed and my "spirit,' became 'born again,' of God's Spirit.
This was my confession as I looked upon that Catholic Crucifix hanging on a wall, which was a depiction of a Savior who had given his life for mankind which I didn't even know the whole story at the time.
But I said to that guy hanging on the wall, "Jesus, I don't even know who or what you are, but I know that you've got something to do with God, if you can, will you please help me because I am so addicted and lost that I can't do anything at all with my life."
I was off of my addictions for perhaps nine months or so, but soon I was back on my drugs until I awoke in a hospital overdosed on Heroin a few years later.
Well, when I realized the next day that my "friends," hadn't obeyed the instructions which I had given them should "I ever overdose." I was angry.
I had told them to drag me back to the alley, and to leave me alone. I had tried everything to get off those drugs, I had even tried God, I thought.
I looked up to God and I literally shouted to him, I said, "Jesus one more time I am asking you if you can help me, then help me, but if you can't help me, then don't blame me if I end up right back on drugs and overdosed all over again."
Well, you know, when you are angry and you tell God a rhetorical question or statement in your anger, you really don't expect a response.
Well, so that was when I was quite surprised to hear the voice of Jesus tell me, "John, I want you to leave Detroit, I want you to leave your "friends," I want you to go to Lansing, and to learn all about me."
Well, I had a cousin in a Charismatic Christian community at Michigan State University, so I called him, knowing that he would think that I was crazy. But as I was telling him my story, he says, "John, that is great, well make arrangements for you to move up here, we have been praying for your soul for the last couple of years."
Well, my point here is not to share my testimony which I have been doing for almost fifty years, but it is to show you or to convince anyone that the "Gospel," or your relationship with Jesus is a very personal thing.
You do not need anyone to meet Jesus, you do not have to stand, sit, kneel or beg God to come to you as you are assisted by any man.
No, you merely have to call on the Lord and He will come and then you need to be as honest with him as you can be. You can ask God to make you clean, or to fill you with the Holy Spirit, His Spirit which raised Jesus up from the dead and which will one day raise up our 'spirits,' as well.
You don't even need to immediately go out and to tell anyone until you feel comfortable with your new "Faith."
You do not need to speak in tongues although you are welcome to ask him for that gift.
You see, there are many Baptists and those kinds of guys who do that in their closets, yet would never admit in church or to their sisters and brothers that they have that ability. You see, this is why we need to pray that more "Christians," would 'come out of the closets?"
There are so many!
Nonetheless, God isn't angry, God is only interested in his creation of men and women to not "lose their souls."
But that is the "gospel," when you 'cut to the chase."
Therefore, don't pay attention to men who tell you that you have to do this or you have to do that, you don't have to do anything other than to have an open and honest discussion with Jesus, I guess, sort of like Charlie might have had at one time or another with God.
I hate to even mention this, but one time, I was at an altar where we prayed a number of people to come up and to receive salvation. I was in the background interceding for these many souls, and praying the presence of the Holy Spirit into the house. Soon they were called to the altar.
Honestly, as I recall there were maybe up to twenty or fifty souls. Well, after each one was prayed for and the service was ending, the pastor before giving the benediction pronounced to the new converts, "Okay, now that each one of you has received salvation and are now Christians, when you come back next week, I will be expecting you to bring your tithes to the church, as expected of all Christians or members."
I lie not, it happened just as I am recalling the incident, but can you see why God will come to you without the benefit of any man or any individual to help you receive His Spirit.
I personally wonder at times, if some individuals could have been a much more powerful witness of Jesus Christ, if they didn't have the "Religious," helping and guiding them into their "disciples."
So, you probably never would expect this coming from me, but in many cases, perhaps you would fare much better if you stayed in the closets, just so long as you are in there with Jesus!
Acts 9:5-7 New Living Translation
5 “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked.
And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! 6 Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one!

A typical Protestant Bible, such as the King James Version, contains 31,102 verses-23,145 in the Old Testament and 7,957 in the New Testament. The exact number can vary slightly depending on the specific translation or version of the Bible being used.
Breakdown by Testament
Old Testament: 23,145 verses
New Testament: 7,957 verses
Historical Context
The verse divisions were added in 1551 by Robertus Stephanus.
Chapter divisions were added earlier, in 1238, by Cardinal Hugo De S. Caro.
Could I share with you how many scriptures in which I have memorized?
Let's see, there is that John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son...
Then there is John Chapter one, In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God ...
But you see, I have been listening to the Bible, as I sleep ever since maybe the third year that I had become a Christian. It has been well over forty years off and on throughout my life.
I first began with the Bible on cassette tapes.
Next, I ended up buying a set of Eight track Tapes, in which the tapes would continually loop as I slept and play over and over again.
Then one time I bought a Micro Mini Cassette tape player and I meticulously copied something like sixty four itsy bitsy little tapes that would play on a little itsy bitsy little player which I could take anywhere. This was good but soon they were developing "Walkman," cassette player's from Sony, Aiwa, and Panasonic which would make the Player almost as small as the cassette itself, and they would have 'auto reverse' as well, as an AM and FM radio where I could constantly listen to those Christian stations which broadcast ministry teachings after ministry teachings.
So, constantly all day I would either play "worship and Praise," the Bible on cassette, or Christian teaching all from one little "Walkman," type Player which was always hanging on my belt.
Well, then they came out with the MP3 player and I couldn't believe it.
I could buy this little two inch by two inch player, and store on it the Old and New Testament, a hundred Praise and Worship albums, and even more had I been able to afford them, but also a hundred Sermons authored by the Holy Spirit because I was there in the services and had helped pray him down.
So, what I am saying is that the average Christian has no idea of what God has given to the church through modern day technology.
Anyway, as I was saying I have been putting scriptures into my 'spirit man,' for over forty something years, yet I couldn't tell you where many are even found.
Nevertheless, for instance when I am writing a paper, the Holy Spirit will bring to my remembrance the Scripture.
He wont tell me exactly where it is, but He will tell me the scripture that comes to mind which is most closely associated with the subject in which I am writing about.
And the same is true when I share the gospel with an individual, many times I won't even be sure of where the scripture is Chapter and verse, although I have a general idea, but it is the Holy Spirit working with the believer, which happens to be myself in order to dispense the most accurate "word," which reveals the "Truth," for the benefit of that other soul or souls in which you are trying to save.
Nonetheless, my point is that all that any believer who is dedicated to preaching the 'truth,' of the gospel needs to do, is to just fill your 'spirit man,' up with the 'word of God,' and you can be doing that all the time even while you are sleeping.
I mean, there is hardly any effort extended but the Holy Spirit will have equipped you himself that you may, "...be approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".
And I am not suggesting that you do not need to read the Bible, or to study the written word. Once, I was in a country where I rebuked a highly regarded member of some political party for promoting violence among his people. Well, the man was a Protestant inciting violence against the Catholics.
As I was taken to meet him, I thoroughly rebuked him and told him that if he kept promoting violence, "the hell and damnation" that he was threatening his people with unless they despised the Catholics, would be suffered by himself on the day of judgment. I had only been a Christian for three years, and I think that he guessed that because no sane Christian would be talking to this sort of "respected politician," in his own church.
Well, the guy responded to how he responded to many of his enemies apparently, he replied to me, "Have you ever read the Bible cover to cover sir?"
I said, "Yes, twice!"
So, after that "He was sort of at a loss of words?"
Anyway, as I was just laying in my bed awake, I was reminded that in my earlier writing I had failed to mention that, "You do not have to be a Republican to call upon Jesus in order to have an honest and thought provoking discussion with Him."
No, you don't need to shower, you don't need to dress right, you do not need to even be whole or healed of all of your issues.
You just need to be real and honest with him and if you are willing to listen to what he says, and you are not too proud that your ears are blocked, then you could ask him, "Jesus if you are real, then show me."
"Jesus, if you are real, then prove yourself to me."
Or perhaps, "Jesus, aren't I in the right when I feel all these inner most feelings of hatred toward a particular political party or person?"
There are a million different things that you can ask Jesus.
I promise you that he is only waiting anxiously for you to truly come before him that he might show himself good to you and to answer any questions that you have about life.
In the following passage, God is telling of the benefits of those who are on God's side.
Why would anyone ever wish to be opposed to God or Jesus, when he offers so much security and righteousness for your cause.
It is really 'mind blowing' for me to try to understand this.
Isaiah 41:10-13 Amplified Bible
10 'Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].'
11 "Indeed, all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and humiliated;
Those who strive against you will be as nothing and will perish.
12 "You shall search for those who quarrel with you, but will not find them;
They who war against you will be as nothing, as nothing at all.
13 "For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord],
Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'
Also, let me mention another advantage that this generation has. I have a Fire TV by my bed, but seldom watch it. Nevertheless, generally if I don't have a small Bluetooth speaker playing scripture all night, I will sometime play a "You tube," clip, by double right clicking it, and "LOOP," it, so it plays continuously all night. Whether they be scriptures, instrumental Christian music, "The Presence worship," segments or just a powerful "word," in which I really want to get in my "spirit man."
So, what I am saying is that this generation has the ability to ingest ten times the data that I was only able to forty years ago.
Think on these things, this is why there is soon to be a coming of the ages.

Technology Feels Like It's Accelerating — Because It Actually Is
Technology advances at an exponentially increasing rate, a concept known as the "Law of Accelerating Returns," where advancements in technology enable further advancements more quickly, creating a positive feedback loop. This is evident in trends like Moore's Law, which observed computing power doubling every ~2 years, and the faster growth in other information technologies. As technology builds on itself, the pace of change accelerates, leading to a future where progress could be compressed into much shorter periods compared to the past.
Why the Pace of Advancement is Accelerating
Exponential Growth: Technology doesn't just improve steadily; it improves at an increasingly faster rate.
Self-Perpetuating Cycle: Each new generation of technology is more powerful and affordable, allowing for the development of even superior technologies at a faster pace.
Foundational Technologies: Advances in areas like microprocessors, the internet, and AI create new tools and processes that accelerate further discoveries and innovations in all fields.
Key Examples and Concepts
Moore's Law: An observation that the number of transistors on a microchip roughly doubles every two years, leading to more powerful and affordable processors.
Other "Laws": Similar accelerating trends have been observed in other information technologies, such as the doubling of network bandwidth every six months (Gilder's Law).
The "Law of Accelerating Returns": A concept that explains how technology's exponential progress leads to the speed of innovation increasing over time.
The Future of Technological Advancement
Compressed Progress: According to futurist Ray Kurzweil, we could experience as much technological progress in the next century as we have in the past 20,000 years.
Transformative AI: The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence have the potential to be the most transformative technology, driving further innovation at an even faster rate.
Fundamental Shifts: The cumulative effect of these accelerating advances could lead to changes so profound that they fundamentally alter the fabric of human history.
You know, I have been up for a few hours and the Lord has been talking to me. Well, he was sort of correcting me for my "Paper," yesterday or above.
He told me, "That I didn't finish the work that I started."
You see, I never told of my 2nd experience with my two first encounters with God. After I moved up to Lansing, I made up my mind that I was going to go to every meeting and every class in which was suggested to me. Well, one of my classes was called, "Life in the Spirit," and they taught about being "Born Again," and then experiencing a Biblical Phenomenon known as the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit," as the Charismatic's commonly referred to it.
Lastly, they told of the first mission that God has for each one of us and it is to be a "member of the 'body of Christ," while on Earth. It is also known as becoming a "member of God's true church."
So, as I first arrived in this community, one of my first priorities was to take this class called, "The life in the Spirit."
I believe that it was like a twelve week class and on the eighth week, the leaders would pray for any candidates who wished to be prayed for to receive this "Baptism," or this phenomenon which normally accompanied the experience of "speaking in tongues."
The phenomena which accompanied the experience was a manifestation of the believer "speaking in other tongues," as written about in the "Book of Acts," concerning the Early Church. disciples.
Please see, Acts 2, 10 and 19, for an example of it.
Also, since then there has also been a similar course which is called "Alpha." it started in England and is now taught all over the world.
Alpha Testimonies: Middle of service. (Index -54) Especially the young lady who was the third individual sharing on Alpha, Sassy, I believe, a very powerful testimony.

So, anyway, on the eighth week of the class, I was as excited as I had ever been in my life to be prayed for this experience. You see, I still had some issues and through talking with other Christians and reading a book written by Pastor David Wilkerson, called "The Cross and the Switchblade,"
I learned that many times drug addictions could be broken off an individual the moment that they received this experience, as God filled your 'spirit man' with Power. It had been reported by a number of converts and most all agreed that there was no need to go through "Cold Turkey."
Nonetheless, I had three brothers lay "hands on me," per the example in scripture and I received the "gift of tongues."
It was like "Boom," and you were healed.
Well, That was what happened to me that night, though I had an experience which had also taught me one of the most important 'Spiritual lessons,' In which I have never forgot.
My lesson learned?
That you can't put 'nothing,' over on God, He knows everything, so you better be as honest with Him as is humanly possible.
Someday, when I have time, although I have shared the story in the past. It is a little humorous, as many of my experiences with God are?
But you see, I failed to mention last night that this is the ultimate goal in which God wishes for the Christian. The ultimate goal is to become a part of the "Body of Christ," on Earth.
The ultimate goal is to be a member of a church, but not just any church.
You see, Jesus wants you to become a member of a church which is not legalistic and demanding of it's members because they are in bondage to it's traditions.
He wants you to become a member of a church where the leadership is not judgmental and does not think that only they have the answers to walking out the Christian life.
And lastly, Jesus does not want you to get involved with a church where the leaders only have their selfish interests at heart, as opposed to the well being of the sheep.
Therefore, I guess what I am saying is that an individual could be "Born Again," tonight.
Or perhaps, an individual could be "Speaking in the tongues which the Early Church spoke," in a matter of a few weeks.
Nonetheless, as far as finding a church without the bad characteristics which I have noted above will most likely take you a little longer.
You see, I know of one guy on that "Pilgrimage," and it has taken almost fifty years, nonetheless, he still hasn't quit, much like Lewis and Clarke, or that other guy, what was his name?
You know the one lost somewhere on that dark continent of Africa!

AI Overview
The famous explorer who searched for a person in Africa was Henry Morton Stanley, a Welsh-American journalist and explorer. He was sent to find the Scottish missionary and explorer, Dr. David Livingstone, who had gone missing in Central Africa.
Details of the expedition:
The search begins: In 1869, the New York Herald newspaper, concerned after not hearing from Livingstone for several years, hired Stanley to find him.
The famous meeting: Stanley located the ailing Livingstone on November 10, 1871, in the village of Ujiji on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, in present-day Tanzania.
The famous line: Stanley is famously said to have greeted him with the words, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" However, this phrase does not appear in Stanley's journal from that time and was likely invented for his book How I Found Livingstone, published in 1872.
A historical moment: The meeting is a legendary event in the history of African exploration, cementing both men's fame. After resupplying Livingstone, Stanley returned to Zanzibar and documented his adventure.

Matthew 27:50-51 Amplified Bible
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud [agonized] voice, and gave up His spirit [voluntarily, sovereignly dismissing and releasing His spirit from His body in submission to His Father’s plan]. 51 And [at once] the veil [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split apart.
AI Overview
The ripping of the temple veil signified the end of the separation between God and humanity, opening a new era where people could approach God directly through Jesus Christ. It demonstrated that Jesus' sacrifice was a sufficient atonement for sins, making the old covenant system obsolete and establishing a new, direct relationship with God for all believers.
Abolished separation: The veil physically separated the Holy of Holies, the most sacred part of the temple, from the rest of the temple. Its tearing from top to bottom by God symbolized that this barrier was permanently removed.
Established a new covenant: The tearing of the veil marked the transition from the Old Covenant, which was based on animal sacrifices and the Mosaic Law, to the New Covenant through Christ.
Granted direct access: It signified that all believers now have direct access to God through faith in Jesus, who serves as their high priest. This meant that the ritualistic and physical access to God through the temple priesthood was no longer the only way.
Revealed Christ's sacrifice: The event was a symbolic representation of Jesus' flesh being torn on the cross, which atoned for the sins of all people.
Signified divine action: The veil being torn from the top to the bottom indicated that this was a divine act, not a human one, showing God's will to provide a way for people to come to Him.

I received the following text: "I might stop by your city in December and catch up if you are free."
Well, exactly who are you?
"I'm Mia Zhang from Los Angeles. Don't you remember?"
NO
"You remember I was at your 51st Birthday Party not long ago, and we had a great time talking."
Please pray that some "nut case," isn't out to kill me.

Coming back from shopping:
You know, I was just listening to the Jesse Waters show, and then another and then Gutfeld. Well, on Gutfeld they had a great discussion concerning Don Rickles, well I always liked Rickles, but I seldom hear anyone talk about one of the funniest comedians that I have ever heard. As a child growing up I would watch the "Little Rascals," and the "Three Stooges," nevertheless, I wasn't that impressed with "slapstick comedy," as they use to call some of it, therefore, I was more a fan of "The little Rascals, rather than "The three stooges."
Well, I recall seeing real old movies on occasion from the early days and some were shown when movies with sound first became available. A few of those were of "The Marx Brothers."
They were some of Hollywood's first comedy team, yet I never watched them to get an interest, or cared for them.
Nevertheless, when I was probably twenty five or so, I watched an episode of "You Bet Your Life" and this guy kept me laughing throughout his show. Well, I have periods where I won't watch TV for years and then when I do it is just a few new shows that I add to my list of "Favored Shows."
For example, I never watched Seinfeld until it was a few years in reruns, and then I couldn't get enough of it. I remember as a teenager watching Mash, I had read the novel and I believe that it was one of the funniest books in which I had ever read.
At the time, I never sought comedy through literature, but when the show came out, again, I couldn't get enough.
Anyway, recently I have been watching a few clips from "You Tube," of Groucho on "You Bet Your life," and I can tell you that for my opinion this guy happens to be the best comedic that I have ever seen in my life.
I just "googled," a couple of facts of the man and I read that he had been born in 1890, (his birthday was also two days before mine, so I appreciated that fact.) nonetheless, his show had run for ten years, until it was cancelled in 1961.
So, I got thinking about that, if you watch his show, this guy was as funny at seventy one, as most others are at thirty or forty.
Next, I went to Wikipedia, and began reading about his boldness and courage. I mean the guy could be likely, at any time, to say anything, about anyone.
Well, what I mean, "Was that he was not an individual who was a spineless sniveling jealous or envious little baby," as many think who are in "Hollywood?"
Do you know what I mean?
I mean, "The guy didn't have a hypocritical bone in his body."

The passage is in Matthew 13:10-17 (also referenced in Mark 4:11-12 and Luke 8:10), where Jesus explains to his disciples that he speaks in parables so that the "mysteries of the kingdom of heaven" are revealed to them, while the crowds, who have hardened their hearts, are kept from fully understanding. He states this is because "seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear or understand".
