You know, something happens to a man once he receives Christ. Although, he is still prone to sin and often does, there is something in his nature that will just not allow him to continue. It's like when they first came out with the VCR and then all of a sudden you could purchase any movie on tape and watch it at your own pleasure. I'm sure the later generations after mine never appreciated this, but when I was a kid, I used to watch movies religiously.

I lived in Detroit, and we had this guy named Bill Kennedy. Well, for years and years he would host these programs either from the station across the Detroit river, in Windsor, Ca or from a Detroit local station within the city.

Nonetheless, the guy was a living legend in Detroit, apparently, he at one time had gone out to Hollywood, and had acted in a few roles or something. I forget, but he knew everything there was concerning "Hollywood."

So, on his shows, he would show a movie like "The Alamo," starring John Wayne and then in between commercial breaks he would fill us in with the details or the Hollywood "gossip," on such and such an actress or actor.

I mean, this guy was like "The Wizard of Oz," or something but he wasn't hidden behind a curtain. This was a real hero of the life and times of Hollywood; California and he survived the dog-eat-dog world of "Hollywood," and he was gracious enough to share it with his fans.

Why, it really made you feel important. I mean, being a kid of eight or nine years old.

But I thank God for the guy because he placed a "love of film" in my stupid head way back then. Nevertheless, I say all of that because right up until you could purchase those VCR tapes, I loved Hollywood films.

You see, since we weren't able to 'just go rent the movie,' someone came up with an idea that was a list of the upcoming movies in the future.

Therefore, I recall as a kid reading ahead for my favorite movies to be shown on TV.

I remember one time when a movie was coming up called, Abbot and Costella meet Frankenstein. This was one of their "best," not only do the two guys meet Frankenstein, but they also meet Dracula, and the Wolfman from those popular movies, as well.

So, as the day approached, I got my little portable TV ready, some snacks which I was going to ingest and of course some Coca Cola, ready.

Well, Saturday morning comes around, and I had everything all ready to enjoy a "Saturday Matinee," at the movies.

Also, whenever I watched a movie, it was as if these were things that I worshipped. I mean, no one was allowed to talk, there were no distractions allowed, I needed 100 per cent focus on my movie.

Nevertheless, it was a Saturday afternoon in a household of four boys. Well, no surprise that one of the biggest family fights arrived between a couple of my brothers, and even though I had waited months to watch my movie, I don't think that I was able to glean any more than five minutes of enjoyment from it.

Such was life in the 'Big City.'

Most people in this generation just don't realize how blessed they are.

The same was true for music.

We used to have to carry around either ten cassettes, albums, or Eight track tapes to listen to a days' worth of music, and today they can put a couple of Terabytes on a Thumb Drive with so much music on it, you wouldn't run out of songs if you lived to be a hundred and the Media Player fits in your shirt pocket.

So, it was like I said, when they first came out, I would rent all the latest Films on VCR. Nonetheless, then when I went back to seriously serving God, I couldn't give a rip for any movie and many times they had become a chore just to watch.

Well, that's how movies have been with me for the last thirty years or so. Therefore it is seldom that I can just sit through a movie and enjoy it. It was probably the first Star Wars movie where I last really really enjoyed a good movie with plot and romance and the whole works.

I don't know, maybe I am a little strange, but it has to be really really really good for me to enjoy a movie.

Anyway, I say all of that to point out that the other night, I tuned into a movie which I thought was at least worthy of mention. It was a Biopic of Bob Dylan called, "a Complete Stranger."

Well, I loved it as it brought back to memory the times when I would go out and buy his records or music to listen too.

The movie had already begun, but I think that I tuned in close to the beginning.

Bob Dylan was like one of my music idols, before I became a Christian.

This is a true story, but one time I had just enough money to buy "one" album. So, I headed to the store to purchase one. Well, all the way to the store I couldn't make up my mind as to which album that I should spend the money on. I believe at the time the albums were like close to ten dollars and I was just a kid. I don't know maybe they were only like 7.99 or whatever, but it was a lot to spend on one album.

Anyway, I remember arriving to the store and going through the albums. So, here I've got both the Bob Dylan record in hand and then the other of a local Detroit Band. So, as I was trying to decide between the two, some "wisdom," dropped down from heaven, I guess?

But a completely logical thought goes through my mind and I am thinking, "Here I have a record from an international song writer, a very revered musician, on a national record label recognized all over the world" and I am trying to decide whether I should buy a record by four or five guys from Detroit, who are a little loud and sometimes I can't make out the words, nevertheless, they are trending and cool and the music plays nice while I am banging my head against the wall, but I don't know....they are the same price, but man, I love Bob Dylan's music.

Well, I bought the album (The one by Bob Dylan if you weren't listening) and when I got it home, I loved it. One of my favorite songs of his was on it, called "Girl from the North Country," as well, as a few others.

So, anyway, I was watching this movie and as I was watching the movie, a "word from the Lord," comes to me for a particular individual and I don't even know who it could be.

Nevertheless, for a few days now, I just can't get it out of my head and feel as if I must share it.

Now, please understand I am not one of these crazy "Prophets," from the Charismatic Streams, that you might be used to hearing.

Honestly, I have never set up a tent outside a conference and charged people to 'interpret,' their dreams or to give them a "word. from the Lord."

I have never 'prophesied,' so many times where I have like seventeen prophecies and then coincidentally that is just the exact number of tracks and minutes, in which will fill up a CD in order to be published and to sell it for fifteen or twenty dollars a 'POP.'

And lastly, I have never stood up in a congregation of 'old time,' religious legalistic Holy Ghost Filled Pentecostal and told the Pastor that he was wrong and that he shouldn't be referring to that old Russian guy Solzhenitsyn as a Prophet, just because he was a popular author.

Or wait.......maybe I did do that once.

The Poor guy, I humiliated him in front of hundreds of his congregation, no doubt, but I am sure a few had some great joy given to them that day?

Nevertheless, I have seemed to have gotten a little better.....well, From my perspective anyway?

But that was my first year as a Christian.

So, what I am saying is that I am not like other Prophets in the church. Many times, I just write those things which God reveals to me and few times do I ever give someone a personal prophecy. I was always taught by my mentors that "If you want to hear a word that God has for you, then just ask Him, stupid!"

Nonetheless, on occasion God will give a "word of comfort," to someone because he is a God abounding in great love and joy toward his creation.

So, anyways as I was watching this biopic concerning Bob Dylan, right in the middle of it, God gives me a message for someone.

I still haven't made much sense of it, but I am sure that the person who it is meant for will have more insight than myself.

But the 'word,' that came to me was this, "Don't just think of yourself as a 'plate,' or a small part of the overall Hull. You are not a plate, you are the entire Hull. You are the most important part of the whole. Without the Hull, it can't do anything of itself. The ship goes nowhere or it sinks."

This is how God intended for the great "Ships," to be made.

From Google AI:

AI Overview

The hull is the watertight, structural body of a ship that provides buoyancy and stability, allowing it to float on water. It is the main component that encloses the rest of the vessel, with everything else built on top of it. Modern hulls are often made of steel, but can also be constructed from materials like fiberglass, aluminum, and wood.

Key functions of the hull

Buoyancy: The hull displaces a volume of water greater than its own weight, which is what keeps it afloat.

Watertight enclosure: It serves as a waterproof container to keep the ship's interior dry and protected from the sea.

Structural integrity: The hull is the foundation that supports the vessel's structure and withstands the forces of the sea, cargo, and other loads.

Performance: The shape of the hull is designed to improve a ship's performance, such as a deep V-shaped hull for efficient cutting through water or a flat-bottom hull for shallow water navigation.

Hull components and design

The outer skin is often made of welded plates (shell plating).

The hull extends from the bottom of the keel up to the first open decks.

Different types of hulls exist depending on the ship's purpose, such as displacement hulls for cargo ships and planning hulls for speedboats.

Materials can vary, including steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and wood, each offering different advantages in terms of durability, weight, and cost.

Proverbs 31:10-31     New Living Translation

(A Wife of Noble Character)

10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?

She is more precious than rubies.

11 Her husband can trust her,

and she will greatly enrich his life.

12 She brings him good, not harm,

all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax

    and busily spins it.

14 She is like a merchant's ship,

    bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household

and plan the day's work for her servant girls.

16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it;

with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She is energetic and strong,

    a hard worker.

18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable;

her lamp burns late into the night.

19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,

    her fingers twisting fiber.

20 She extends a helping hand to the poor

and opens her arms to the needy.

21 She has no fear of winter for her household,

    for everyone has warm clothes.

22 She makes her own bedspreads.

She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.

23 Her husband is well known at the city gates,

where he sits with the other civic leaders.

24 She makes belted linen garments

and sashes to sell to the merchants.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,

and she laughs without fear of the future.

26 When she speaks, her words are wise,

and she gives instructions with kindness.

27 She carefully watches everything in her household

    and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.

    Her husband praises her:

29 "There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,

    but you surpass them all!"

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;

but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.

31 Reward her for all she has done.

Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
